Actor Azlan Komeng and his wife, Nur Nilam Ortiz, have taken firm action against a former business partner accused of continuing to use their names for product promotion despite the business collaboration having ended long ago.
According to their lawyer from Tetuan Kyara & Co, Farhayu Aziana Mazlan, they are currently in the process of identifying the individuals involved to send a Letter of Demand (LOD).
“We are investigating and identifying the individuals involved.
Some have already been sent an LOD, and more will follow.
For now, no court action has been taken as we are awaiting their response within 14 days,” she said during a press conference for the launch of Nilam Empire’s products at a hotel.
Meanwhile, another lawyer for the couple, Isznie Anis Ismail, explained that the main demand is for the individuals to stop using the name “Nilam” and to remove all posts related to her clients.
“The other party has been asked to cease using the name Nilam after the partnership ended. They are also required to delete all related posts,” she clarified.
According to Nur Nilam, her former business partner registered a new name, Nilam HQ Resources, with the SSM, even though she had withdrawn from the partnership and brought the brand under a new company, Nilam Empire.
“The original Nilam HQ was 100 percent mine.
But after the collaboration, I allowed them to use the name.
When I pulled out, the brand should have stopped being used, but they registered a new, similar name,” she explained.
She added that this action not only confused customers but also damaged her reputation and trust in the business.
“Many customers were confused. My name is still being used.
It has had a huge impact, including on my mental and financial well-being.
I stayed silent for two or three months, but finally, I felt the need to step forward and expose this,” she said.
The couple is now actively promoting new products under the Nilam Empire brand and hopes this clarification will clear up the confusion among their loyal customers. – BOOM!
