[V] “This Is Our Family’s Attire…” – Prince Syed Clarifies Flower Garland Controversy

Entrepreneur and social media influencer, Prince Syed Syahid and his wife, Fatin Syazwani, once again captured attention when their appearance at a recent birthday celebration sparked heated debate among netizens.

The couple was seen wearing outfits inspired by another community’s culture, complete with flower garlands around their necks.

This action drew criticism from some netizens who deemed it insensitive to religious issues, claiming it carried religious symbolism and imitated another culture’s traditions.

Prince Syed, whose full name is Syed Muhammad Shah Hasif, however, stepped forward to clarify that the accusations were baseless. According to him, their appearance was simply a reflection of their own family heritage.

“For your information, you might be pure Malay, but we’re of mixed heritage.

So, what you call following another culture or religion is actually part of our own family.

We’re Arab, Chinese, and Indian mix.”

Prince Syed further explained that throughout the event, there were no actions that went against religious norms.

He stated that they did not participate in any rituals or practices of another religion during the event.

“Did you see us doing anything inappropriate? Did you see us following another religion’s rituals?

What culture are you trying to make an issue out of?”

Additionally, Prince Syed emphasized that the outfit worn by his wife still adhered to modesty standards despite being a saree, as his wife is also of Indian descent.

He also noted that they were careful about their appearance and maintaining sensitivity.

“Even if we wear Indian attire, at the very least, it covers the aurat.

My wife is of Indian descent, and she wore a saree, but it’s not like her stomach was exposed or anything.”

In the meantime, the couple advised netizens to be more cautious when commenting, especially on sensitive issues involving religion and culture, as it could cause confusion among the public. – BOOM!
