National songstress, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza once again proved her excellence on the international stage when she was honored to perform a special set at an official dinner celebrating Chinese President, Xi Jinping and his delegation at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya.
Through her post on TikTok, Siti Nurhaliza described the opportunity as a meaningful moment in her artistic career.
“My heartfelt thanks for the invitation and this precious opportunity. May the bond of performances between Malaysia and China continue to flourish and strengthen,” she said briefly yet profoundly.
Siti Nurhaliza sang two special songs – the traditional Malay song “Cindai” and the classic Mandarin song “The Moon Represents My Heart“, popularized by Teresa Teng.
The aura and melodious vocals of Siti Nurhaliza clearly captivated the audience, including President Xi, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the entire Chinese delegation, who gave thunderous applause as her performance concluded.
The event was held in conjunction with President Xi’s three-day state visit to Malaysia starting last Tuesday – his second official visit in 12 years, following his trip in 2013.
The diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China have been described as growing stronger since both nations established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
This visit to Malaysia is also part of Xi’s first series of state visits this year, alongside Vietnam and Cambodia. – BOOM!
