Renowned Indonesian actress, Marshanda has finally addressed the hot issue regarding claims that she changed her religion after photos of her performing the melukat ritual in Bali went viral recently.
Not staying silent, Marshanda, affectionately known as Chacha, uploaded a video on Instagram specifically to answer netizens’ questions.

“When I held a Q&A, someone asked, ‘Has Kak Chacha changed her religion?’
I want to use this video to answer that question,” she said in the video.
However, Marshanda did not provide a direct answer. Instead, she chose a deeper approach by touching on spirituality rather than just the label of religion.
“I don’t want to talk about religion.
Because I believe, whatever religion it is, it surely teaches us to do good,” she explained.
Marshanda added that being religious is not just about performing rituals. For her, intention and sincerity are the main pillars of any practice.
“Many people assume that when someone prays diligently or performs worship, they’re automatically considered spiritual.
But that’s not necessarily true.
If we perform rituals without sincere intention, they hold no real value,” she clarified.
The actress and mother of one also spoke about the common human tendency to complain and lose faith in God’s plan, something she believes is far from true spirituality.

“Spirituality is about how we accept this life,
how we think positively about God even in tough times,” she further explained.
According to her, truly spiritual individuals do not question others’ beliefs but rather accept differences as a form of harmony. – BOOM!
