[V] Atikah Suhaime Picks Epidural To Avoid Birth Trauma, Netizens Busy Judging Her Belly

Actress Atikah Suhaime caught attention when she revealed that she chose to use an epidural while giving birth to her first child, Lyla Mulan Teh, last Saturday.

Through a post on social media, Atikah, whose real name is Nur Atikah Mohd Suhaime, said the decision was made to avoid trauma during childbirth.

“I actually had to be induced because it was hard to monitor the baby’s movements. I kept going to the hospital in a panic because the baby wasn’t moving, but they were all false alarms.

Because of that, the doctor suggested inducing. I wasn’t mentally ready to give birth earlier.

Giving birth with an epidural was so comfortable, the pain just felt like needing to poop,” she explained.

According to the wife of Datuk Lokman Teh, even with the epidural, she could still enjoy the birthing experience like other moms.

“Thank God it wasn’t too painful, I could listen to instructions calmly.

For moms out there giving birth normally for the first time, an epidural is super important to avoid trauma and tearing.

There’s no such thing as not feeling the joy of childbirth,” she said.

However, in the comments section, Atikah’s post got all kinds of reactions from netizens.

Some shared their own experiences, but plenty also criticized her choice to use an epidural, throwing around myths about the anesthesia.
