A new boyband formed by Simon Cowell, December 10, has sparked intense backlash from BTS fans after being accused of using rage bait tactics to promote themselves in a viral video clip.

The group allegedly made a controversial statement comparing themselves to the world-famous K-pop group BTS.
“If BTS can sell out Wembley Stadium in just five minutes, we could sell out Pluto in five minutes too. It’s another planet—seriously, I’m being honest,” they said.

Some netizens criticised the remark, describing it as a failed provocation and a weak marketing strategy deliberately aimed at stirring up fans.
“Just ignore them. This is a very poor promotional strategy just to grab attention and trend on Twitter,” commented one netizen.

The group’s members were selected through auditions held over several months across the UK and Ireland. Despite being newly formed, their actions and statements have become a hot topic on social media, drawing mixed reactions over their self-promotion tactics.
December 10 has also been compared to another Simon Cowell-created boyband, One Direction. The group has received similar attention due to the name resemblance, as One Direction is commonly referred to as 1D—spelled backwards, it mirrors December 10.

Meanwhile, a Scottish heavy metal band named December Tenth reported that their social media platforms were flooded with messages from fans who mistakenly confused them with Simon Cowell’s new pop boyband, which uses the same name.
The band has welcomed Cowell’s legal team to contact them to discuss potential legal action regarding the name dispute. —Boom!
