The police have confirmed that the Japanese woman who died after allegedly falling from the fourth floor of a condominium in Subang Jaya last Friday was the wife of entrepreneur and social media influencer, Ridz Okumura.
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, stated that the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR), but a thorough investigation is still being conducted, including from a criminal perspective.
“Even though it’s classified as sudden death, our investigation remains the same. We will look into whether there are any criminal elements, self-inflicted actions, or otherwise.
“If criminal elements are detected, we will reclassify the case under criminal offenses. So, I urge the public not to make any negative comments about this case without knowing the facts,” he said during a press conference at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters today.
He added that the police have already taken Ridz Okumura’s statement to assist in the investigation.
Previously, the entrepreneur shared on social media about the passing of his wife, leaving him with their son, Sky Taizo Okumura.
On 28 February, Subang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat, reported that a Japanese woman in her 50s was found dead, lying face down on the ground.
“Preliminary investigations at the scene found no criminal elements involved in the incident,” he said.
The police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident. – BOOM!
