After stealing the spotlight with his role as Daud M in the late Mamat Khalid’s final work, Joey Daud is back with a new single titled Wamwamsam, officially released on May 20, 2025.
This experimental comedy pop-rock song is more than just light entertainment; Wamwamsam highlights social issues and the importance of education with satirical lyrics and a lively rhythm that captivates the ears.

“Vision isn’t just a word — it’s a way of life. Wamwamsam may sound funny, but its meaning runs deep,” said Joey, who created the song based on his life experiences and observations of society.
The single also showcases a collaboration with young composers Ilham Nasir and Hidayat Nasir from Luncai Emas, featuring an exclusive rap segment by A.D from the Sabah hip-hop group Isohbatos.
“This isn’t a song for just one area — it’s a song for all of Malaysia,” Joey emphasized.

Interestingly, the music video for Wamwamsam, directed by Amen Khalid, son of Mamat Khalid, will serve as a teaser for the upcoming Daud M film currently in development.
Through Wamwamsam, Joey proves he’s not just a comedian but a visionary artist who dares to experiment with genres and deliver sharp messages creatively. – BOOM!
