Legendary comedian, Saiful Apek has finally come forward to confirm that he is indeed the individual recorded being detained by police in a viral video since yesterday.
“I’m certain and sure, that’s a picture of me. Now, many are probably wondering what caused me to be detained by the police.
All I can say is, it was due to a scuffle issue. That’s all I can share for now, wait for my full explanation later,” he told BH Online.
Previously, a video showing a man in a pink shirt, believed to be a famous comedian, being detained by two police officers sparked speculation among netizens.
The 56-year-old actor and comedian also expressed his disappointment over how quickly the matter went viral without people knowing the real story.
“In conclusion, when we do good, many stay silent. When we make a mistake, many make noise. If we do nothing, some start making up stories.
There’s no need to make assumptions until you hear it from the person himself. Pray for the best for me,” he added.
For the record, Saiful Apek was crowned Most Popular Star at ABPBH 2003 and remains one of the most influential names in Malaysia’s comedy scene.
