Entrepreneur and social media influencer, Ridzuan Ridzokumura has finally spoken about the tragedy that befell his wife, Akiko Okumura, who died after falling from the fourth floor of their condominium in SS16, Subang Jaya, last Friday.
In a live broadcast on TikTok, Ridzuan, better known as Ridz Okumura, 50, shared the moments leading up to the realization that his wife was gone.
According to him, around 1 a.m., he heard a loud crash outside but assumed it was just a road accident since his home is near a highway.
“I thought it might be an accident because the sound was loud. My house is close to the highway, so I often hear noises like that. I was too tired that night, so I didn’t pay much attention and went back to sleep,” he said.
However, the next morning, he began to feel uneasy when his wife wasn’t in the kitchen as usual to prepare breakfast for their son, Sky Taizo Okumura.
“Every morning, she would wake up early to prepare breakfast. But that morning, when I woke up, the kitchen was empty.”
His unease grew stronger when he noticed the window in their bedroom was open and damaged.

“I immediately went to the main bathroom and climbed through the window… at that point, my heart already felt something was wrong.”
When he looked down, Ridz was stunned to find his wife lying face down on the ground.
“I didn’t think twice and immediately asked the security guard to call an ambulance and the police. Because she fell in a good position, I didn’t dare move her body, thinking she might still be alive,” he said tearfully.
According to Ridz, the incident was hard to accept because they were always together before sleeping, and they usually checked the house together.
“Usually, if something happens, I would check it with my wife. But that night, I was too tired and fell asleep.”
Meanwhile, the entrepreneur also urged the public not to speculate or make assumptions about his wife’s death.
“I plead with everyone to stop any speculation. My family and I are still grieving. Please respect our feelings.”
In the meantime, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the Japanese woman who died in the incident was Ridzuan’s wife, and further investigations are ongoing. – BOOM!
