Famous pop star, Ed Sheeran has surprised fans with a new side of himself as a painter!
The singer-songwriter is now holding his first art exhibition at Heni Gallery, Soho, London, starting this Thursday until August 1.
Interestingly, most of the artworks were created in an abandoned car park in London while he was in the UK between his tour concerts.
“I started painting after finishing the Divide Tour in 2019.
It became a very meaningful creative outlet for me,” he said.
Ed also revealed that his interest in art has existed since childhood.
While in the UK last year, Sheeran spent his free time painting every morning.
“I would run to the car park in Soho, paint, then run back home.
I repeated this every day before heading out on tour again,” he said.
The exhibition, titled Cosmic Carpark Paintings, features paintings inspired by cosmic patterns with a ‘splash painting’ style that reflects his spontaneous and emotional side.
Entry to the exhibition is free and does not require an appointment. The paintings are also available for purchase, with proceeds going to The Ed Sheeran Foundation, which supports music education for youth from diverse backgrounds.

The exhibition came to fruition after Ed shared his passion for painting with artist Damien Hirst and Heni founder Joe Hage, who then encouraged him to hold the exhibition. – BOOM!
