Renowned actress, Blake Lively celebrated a major victory when a countersuit worth US$400 million filed by Justin Baldoni against her, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times was dismissed by the court.
Even more shocking, Baldoni’s original lawsuit, amounting to US$650 million, was also thrown out, ending a high-profile legal battle involving allegations of defamation and extortion related to the film It Ends With Us.

Blake, 37, expressed relief and gratitude through Instagram Stories, while sharing several organizations actively fighting for women’s rights.
“Last week, I stood with 19 organizations defending women’s right to speak out for their safety.
Like many others, I also felt the pain of being countersued, including the shame designed to break our spirit,” she said.
The list of organizations shared included the California Women’s Law Center, CHILD USA, and Equal Rights Advocates, which play a role in protecting victims of harassment.

Meanwhile, Blake’s lawyer described the decision as a “complete victory and full vindication” for their clients, Ryan Reynolds, and others named in Baldoni’s lawsuit.
In official court documents obtained by People, Judge Lewis J. Liman stated that the statements made by Blake in her complaint to the CRD were protected and could not be considered defamatory.
This case is seen as a major blow to Baldoni and his Wayfarer production company, which attempted to sue prominent Hollywood figures over claims of damaging their reputation.
Blake also stated that while she won, many other women lack the resources to fight back. – BOOM!
