Rising hip hop star Amir Hasan is back in the spotlight with his latest single, “Pelangi,” which has been chosen as the official theme song (OST) for the TV3 drama series, “Cikgu Diva.”
Coming just a month after the success of his previous single, “Manis,” Amir continues to demonstrate his commitment to producing high-quality music.
“Alhamdulillah, the song ‘Manis’ received an encouraging response. Listeners said they felt something different in my work,” he said gratefully.
Incorporating elements of R&B, pop, and rap, “Pelangi” tells a story of colorful teenage love.
“This song is about a meeting that teaches the meaning of love. It comes from a mix of my experiences and imagination, with the hope that listeners can feel its message,” explained Amir.
The song is the result of a collaboration between Amir and producer madebyartin, with lyrics written by SHR. Completed in early 2024, the song was later revised to better match the theme of the drama “Cikgu Diva.”
“This process was crucial to align it with the story of the drama,” he added.
The drama, starring Eyka Farhana, Fitri Farok, and Syad Mutalib, will premiere on January 31, 2025. Set in the world of education, it touches on themes of friendship and learning with a cheerful atmosphere.
“Pelangi” is now available on all streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Joox. Amir hopes “Pelangi” will not only entertain but also deliver a positive message to listeners.
