Renowned composer and singer, Ajai has finally issued a public apology following the controversy sparked by his statements regarding the copyright and royalty issues of 4U2C’s songs.
According to Ajai, whose real name is Mohamad Faizal Maas, 50, he had no intention of offending any party with his earlier statements.
The apology was shared through a post on Instagram yesterday.
“If my statements were misinterpreted or offended any party, I apologize.
Those statements were not intended to hinder anyone from continuing their creative work,” Ajai explained.
He added that he always supports the efforts of all artists to produce quality work and hopes the controversy can be resolved peacefully.
“I support the efforts of any artist to continue creating, and I hope all matters can be resolved amicably and wisely.
Thank you,” he wrote further.
The apology came after 4U2C’s demand during a press conference, urging Ajai to apologize within 24 hours following claims that his statements about the We 4U2C Live In Concert, scheduled for this September, were baseless.
Previously, composer Man Senoi was also reported to be considering action against the group if his songs were performed without permission.
Ajai had earlier stated that 4U2C should not proceed with the concert if the copyright issues remained unresolved, but the statement was claimed to have confused ticket buyers.
In their latest statement, 4U2C emphasized that the concert will go ahead as planned without needing any permission from parties regarding the copyright of the songs to be performed. – BOOM!
