Riverdale actress, Lili Reinhart, revealed that she was diagnosed with endometriosis after undergoing a laparoscopy last week.

Lili shared her journey with the condition not only to raise awareness but also to deliver a message to the public.
She said that previously, she repeatedly visited doctors and was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis or dysuria (painful urination), but no one considered endometriosis as the true cause of her pain.
“Three hospital visits. Saw various urologists and gynecologists. Yet no one seriously considered endometriosis as the main cause,” she wrote on Instagram.
In brief, endometriosis occurs when endometrial cells from the uterus grow in other parts of a woman’s body. It can cause pain, irregular bleeding, and infertility.

She explained that it was only after consulting two pelvic health specialists that the possibility of endometriosis was recognized, and her own effort to undergo Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) led to an adenomyosis diagnosis.
Despite some doctors doubting her condition, Lili trusted her instincts.

“I’m glad I trusted my body and listened to my instincts. This disease is often misunderstood, and there is frequently a delay in addressing it,” she said.
