South Korean police raided and searched PSY’s recording company to assist an investigation into allegations that the singer violated the country’s health laws by illegally taking controlled medication.
The raid was carried out by Seodaemun Police Station on December 4 at P Nation to collect evidence supporting the charges against PSY.

PSY, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, and a university hospital doctor are currently under investigation for allegedly using third parties, including PSY’s manager, to obtain prescription drugs without in-person consultations.
The Gangnam Style singer is accused of receiving prescriptions for Xanax and Stilnox from a university hospital in Seoul since 2022 without undergoing direct consultations.

Xanax and Stilnox are psychotropic medications used to treat sleep disorders, anxiety, and depression. These drugs are also known to have a high risk of dependence and addiction, making in-person consultation and prescription essential.
P Nation denied any use of third-party prescriptions (proxy prescriptions) and ensured that PSY takes medication through legitimate medical channels.

According to the agency:
“PSY started using remote consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued the practice due to his busy schedule.“
