Jay Park faced heavy backlash after performing his hit song Mommae at the Love Your W event, which aimed to raise awareness for breast cancer.

The performance drew widespread criticism as the song’s lyrics reference women’s bodies, making it unsuitable for the theme and purpose of the charity event.
Following the controversy, Jay Park issued an apology through his Instagram Story, expressing regret if anyone was offended, while emphasizing that his intention was purely good and that he performed without payment.

“After the official breast cancer awareness campaign event, I understood that it was a gathering with a good cause, where people took time out of their busy schedules, so I just performed as usual.
If any cancer patients felt uncomfortable or offended by my performance, I sincerely apologize. I wish you all good health. Hwaiting! I performed with good intentions, without any payment, even while injured. Please don’t exploit that goodwill,” he said.

Despite his apology, many netizens continued to criticize the performance, arguing that Mommae was an inappropriate song choice for an event meant to uplift and support cancer survivors.
