Super Junior’s popular K-pop member, Kim Heechul, sparked widespread attention when he openly declared he would not get married, following a discussion about asset division on the SBS reality show My Little Old Boy, aired on June 29.
In the episode, Heechul, along with fellow celebrities Lee Sang Min and Lee Dong Gun, had a casual yet serious conversation with several divorce lawyers about marriage, divorce, and the issue of asset division.

However, Heechul’s firm statement stole the spotlight when lawyer Park Min Chul asked, “What would you do if your wife wanted the house to be jointly owned after marriage?”
“No, I don’t want that. That’s my house.
I bought that house with the money I earned through hard work as a Super Junior member and from My Little Old Boy.
Why should I share it?” Heechul replied.
When it was explained that a spouse’s contributions during marriage could be grounds for claiming joint ownership, Heechul’s reaction shocked many.
“If that’s the case, I won’t get married!” he said in surprise.

“Legally, if the marriage lasts long and there are children, the spouse’s contributions are recognized.
Even if the house is only in your name, it’s hard to claim it’s 100% your personal property,” added lawyer Yang Na Rae.
Lawyer Park Min Chul also jokingly remarked that Heechul might be one of the toughest clients to represent in a divorce case. – BOOM!
