Singer Ahmad Nubhan Ahamad’s wife, Dr Afifah Hidayah Ahmad Tawfek, expressed her gratitude after the Shah Alam Syariah High Court today granted her full custody of their three children.
Afifah said the decision brought her immense relief after enduring months of emotional strain.
“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful. Previously, I was worried, but when the judge announced that custody was granted in my favour, that feeling turned into relief and deep emotion. I only wanted confirmation from the court that was all that mattered to me,” she told BH Online.
The Shah Alam Syariah High Court confirmed that Afifah now has full custody of their three children: Aafiya, 8; Ahmad Aaffan, 6; and Afzan Nayille, 3. Nubhan, however, was granted visitation rights twice a month.
Nubhan declined to comment further and was seen leaving the court compound in a hurry.
In September, Nubhan had filed two applications at the same court, one for permanent custody (hadanah kekal) and another for interim custody (hadanah interim) of the children.
Prior to that, he caused a stir when he was alleged to have divorced Afifah and subsequently filed for confirmation of the pronouncement of divorce at the Sepang Syariah Lower Court.
The mention of the divorce confirmation case is scheduled for 2 December. —Boom!
