Rapper Akon has reportedly been detained by authorities in Georgia after a warrant was issued for his arrest over his failure to appear in court regarding a suspended driver’s license case.

According to police reports, the incident began in September when Akon was driving a Tesla Cybertruck in the area. Officers on patrol found the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road, and Akon informed them that the truck’s battery had died.

While waiting for a tow truck to arrive, further checks revealed that Akon’s driver’s license had been suspended due to his failure to attend a court hearing since January 2023.
Legal documents obtained by TMZ stated that police issued a citation for driving with a suspended license before releasing him at the scene.

In the same report, officers also noted discovering an illegal vape in the vehicle’s center console, which was subsequently confiscated for disposal.
However, on November 7, Akon was once again arrested following the still-active warrant. He was taken into custody by the Chamblee Police Department and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center before being released within six hours.

Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the warrant, and Akon’s management team has not issued an official statement. –Boom!
