After more than two decades of separation from her ex-husband and renowned composer, Roslan Aziz, celebrated singer Datuk Sheila Majid remains steadfast in her principle that children should not become victims of marital conflicts.
Through the podcast Kita-Kita Aje with Datuk Aznil Nawawi, Sheila emphasized that she never taught her children to hate or go against their biological father.
“I told them gently, he is your father.
The marital issues are between me and my ex-husband, not the children.
Treat me as your mother and him as your father,” she said honestly.
The Sinaran singer added that since they were young, her children were raised with values of manners, religion, politeness, and respect for elders, and were never encouraged to think ill of anyone.
“If someone speaks badly about your father, would you like it?
I taught my children not to meddle in adult matters. Let it pass.
They’re grown now and can think for themselves,” she said.
Interestingly, the relationship between their children, Wan Nur Khaleda (Kayda) and Megat Abdul Majid, with Roslan remains close despite their adulthood.
In fact, as Roslan battles lymphoma cancer, his children frequently visit and stay by their father’s side.
“Every day, they come to check on their father in Keramat,” Sheila revealed.

For the record, Sheila and Roslan’s marriage, which began in 1989, ended in 2000.
Three years later, Sheila married composer Datuk Acis, and they now have two daughters, Khadeja Zaireen and Khalifa Laila. – BOOM!
