After six years of sporting a beard, Hollywood star, Jason Momoa has finally gone clean-shaven to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in Dune: Part Three, directed by Denis Villeneuve.
The 45-year-old actor last shaved his beard during the filming of the first Dune, where his character sacrificed himself to save Paul and Jessica from the Sardaukar threat.
Although absent from Dune: Part Two, Momoa had previously confirmed his return for the third film.
According to Frank Herbert’s original novel, Duncan Idaho returns as a clone, but it remains uncertain whether this storyline will be followed in the upcoming film adaptation.
Interestingly, this image change also holds symbolic meaning for Momoa’s environmental sustainability mission.
“I want to tell everyone, Mananalu is now powered by Boomerang and is trying to bring change,” he said.
The video also received positive reactions from fans, including a heart emoji from his girlfriend, Adria Arjona. – BOOM!
