The trial involving local singer Naim Daniel over a sexual assault allegation has been postponed to March and April next year.

Naim Daniel’s lawyer, Mohd Irwan Sumadi, said the court vacated the hearing scheduled for today.
“The trial has been vacated by the court. The new trial dates are March 31 and April 1 to 3, 2026,” he was quoted as saying by Kosmo.

Mohd Irwan added that he believes the judicial system will deliver justice to all parties involved.
On June 17, Naim was charged at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court with committing physical sexual assault against a 17-year-old girl. The alleged incident is said to have occurred on May 19.

However, Naim pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The case is brought under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years’ imprisonment and whipping upon conviction. —Boom!
