The entertainment world was sent into a frenzy when Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, just 24 hours after intense speculation among fans.
It all began when Swift’s marketing team uploaded 12 photos in a carousel post on social media with the caption, “Thinking about when she said ‘see you next era’.”
A few hours later, Swift’s official website displayed a countdown to 00:12 ET (05:12 BST).
At that time, her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, confirmed that Swift would be this week’s guest on his podcast New Heights.
In a promotional clip for the podcast, Swift herself revealed the album’s title.
Simultaneously, The Life of a Showgirl became available for pre-order on her website.
The official release date for the album has not yet been announced.
However, fans are eagerly awaiting surprises following the success of her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, which broke Spotify’s record for the most-streamed album in a single day last year.
The move to announce her new album on her boyfriend’s podcast is seen as a unique strategy, especially since many of Swift’s previous songs have revolved around her past relationships. – BOOM!
