Actress and singer, Abby Abadi grabbed attention when she weighed in on the polygamy debate being discussed by netizens on the Threads app.
Through her bold post, Abby, whose real name is Arbaiyah Abdul Manan, challenged the view of some who believe love matters more than finances in a polygamous lifestyle.
“I read a thread about polygamy, ‘Polygamy isn’t about money, it’s about love’. Huh? That’s completely wrong. Whoever wrote that better take it back. You’re asking for trouble if you keep going,” Abby stated firmly.
The former Elite group member also questioned the decisions of some women who agree to co-wife even when their husbands can’t fulfill basic responsibilities as a spouse.
“Struggling to support myself is sad enough, let alone taking on someone else’s kids. Even now, plenty of monogamous wives have to fend for themselves. Imagine those in polygamy.”
Abby added that, while she doesn’t oppose the concept of polygamy, a husband needs to have sufficient knowledge before deciding to take more than one wife.
“I’m not against polygamy, but if you don’t have the knowledge, don’t get too excited because marriage isn’t like playing house.”
Abby’s post sparked heated reactions from netizens, with many supporting her views and calling it the real voice of a woman’s reality. – BOOM!
