Popular Bruneian singer, Aziz Harun, 27, made a bold decision when he chose to settle in Kuala Lumpur two years ago to expand his artistic career.
According to Aziz, it’s challenging to stay active in the entertainment industry while still operating from Brunei.

“Previously, everything was handled through Zoom or WhatsApp video calls. It wasn’t efficient for me. I also no longer need to travel back and forth from Brunei to Kuala Lumpur,” he explained.
He added that the opportunity to meet media and industry players face-to-face has made various professional matters much easier.
Interestingly, despite being away from his family for a long time, Aziz doesn’t feel lonely or homesick.
“I don’t feel ‘homesick’ because the journey to Brunei only takes about two hours or so. Plus, my family often comes to visit and vacation with me in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
“But when it comes to Hari Raya, I absolutely have to return there. If not, I’d definitely get kicked out of the house,” he joked with a laugh.
The singer of the song Janji admitted that his artistic career has flourished since moving to Malaysia.

“Alhamdulillah, since completing my studies and obtaining a visa, I’ve been able to focus fully in the studio to keep creating,” he said.
Besides receiving a warm response to his songs, including collaborations with Aisha Retno, Aziz also shared his plans to focus on releasing a solo song in the near future.
For Aziz, moving to Malaysia was the best decision he ever made.
“My decision to move to Malaysia has had a 100 percent positive impact. I love Malaysia.
Living here is so inspiring because I’m surrounded by talented artists, sharing creative spaces in the same studio, and getting the chance to exchange ideas,” he said enthusiastically.
Aziz also expressed his desire to hold a showcase that was postponed since last year, which is expected to take place early next year. – BOOM!
