Popular singer Shila Amzah shared a heartwarming and humorous experience while managing her mother, Fauziah Sarman’s wedding ceremony.
Fauziah was officially married to her partner, Zainal, yesterday.
Shila described the occasion as a meaningful memory, as it was her first time taking on the role of a “mother of the bride.”
Expressing her gratitude, Shila also joked about the amusing moment of receiving salam kaut a heartfelt gesture where guests give monetary contributions to the host.
“Alhamdulillah, everything went smoothly yesterday… It was my first time being the ‘mother of the bride’, receiving salam kaut from the guests,” she said on Threads.
Shila added that all preparations, including attire, makeup, and handling the marriage documents, went smoothly despite a few minor confusions.
“Mak and Babah have never attended a marriage course… they were confused from the start,” she joked.
Previously, 57-year-old Fauziah was married to Datuk ND Lala, with whom she has five children. Shila also expressed her gratitude to her husband, Ubai, for being by her side throughout the wedding preparations. —Boom!
