Malaysian singer Shila Amzah has emphasized her right, together with her husband Ubai, to decide who is allowed to take care of her son Seth, who is autistic.

Shila explained that not everyone understands how to calm or manage an autistic child, making it difficult for her to freely trust others with Seth’s wellbeing.
“Not all parents know how to care for an autistic child… If Ubai and I don’t feel confident about allowing you to take Seth out, that’s our choice. We know our child best,” she said on social media.

According to the 35-year-old singer, even though Ubai is not Seth’s biological father, he genuinely loves and respects the boy, and plays an important role in raising him.
“Ubai may not be his biological father, but Seth really loves and respects him as a father figure who stepped up to care for and guide him,” Shila added.

She also clarified that aside from the two of them, her mother is among the very few people she trusts to take Seth out.

For the record, Shila and Ubai married on 5 August 2023. They share a daughter, Rhea Akira, born on 9 May 2024, while Seth Uwais is Shila’s son from her first marriage to Haris Edraki Elias. –Boom!
