Nick Reiner, the son of renowned director Rob Reiner, is no longer under suicide watch while awaiting his criminal trial in Los Angeles.

The inmate, who had previously been classified as a high suicide risk due to mental health issues, has also been relieved of wearing a suicide-prevention safety gown, which is typically required at all times.

According to People, Nick remains in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility and is housed in High Observation Housing (HOH), where he is kept under strict supervision. This includes checks every 15 minutes, and he is only allowed to leave his cell for court appearances or medical needs.

Nick has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. If convicted, the 32-year-old could face life imprisonment without the possibility of parole or the death penalty.
Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, were found brutally murdered, with their throats slit, at their luxury residence in Los Angeles valued at US$13.5 million (approximately RM54.7 million) on December 14 last year.

Nick reportedly has a history of schizophrenia, and two emergency calls were previously recorded at the residence, one of which was related to mental health concerns prior to the deaths of his parents. –Boom!
