Nick Reiner, the son of renowned director and actor Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner, has been arrested by Los Angeles authorities on suspicion of murdering his parents at their Brentwood, California, home.

According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the bodies of Rob and Michelle were discovered on the afternoon of December 13, showing multiple stab wounds.
The 32-year-old screenwriter was taken into custody at around 9:15 p.m. without bail as investigations continue.

Police reported that Nick had an argument with his father the day before the incident during a holiday party they both attended.
LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell confirmed that the case has been classified as a homicide investigation and is being handled by the Robbery-Homicide Division.
“We are working to establish a timeline of events and are reviewing forensic evidence from the scene,” he told ABC News.

Nick Reiner had previously been known for his struggles with drug addiction, a journey that inspired his father’s 2015 film Being Charlie.
The motive behind the alleged killings has not been disclosed, but authorities have issued search warrants, and several family members are currently being questioned.

The court has set bail at $4 million (approximately RM16.37 million).
Rob Reiner, 78, is famed for directing iconic films such as When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, and The Princess Bride.

Beyond filmmaking, he is also recognized as a vocal political activist and an influential figure in the U.S. entertainment industry. -Boom!
