Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamaruzaman has defended his social media post regarding the RM30 million debt involving Tan Sri Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir, after the former Minister of Culture, Arts and Tourism was accused of “going into hiding.”

The Kuala Lumpur High Court was told that the cosmetic entrepreneur took the action after his repeated attempts over months and years to contact and track down Abdul Kadir failed, including having his phone number blocked.
“Not just one day, sir (referring to the lawyer), you can’t just say this (referring to why he said Abdul Kadir ran away) if you haven’t invested RM30 million,” he said during cross-examination by Ravichandaran Selliah, representing the plaintiff.

According to Harian Metro, during the proceedings, Aliff Syukri, as the defendant, told the court that he had invested RM30 million in Buckingham ByThe-Sea Sdn Bhd (BBTS), a company under Syarikat Pembangunan Utara Sdn Bhd (PUSB) owned by Abdul Kadir, after signing a joint venture agreement.

The defendant also informed the court that he had fulfilled his responsibility of promoting a resort in Langkawi, as agreed in the said agreement.

However, Aliff Syukri claimed that he had not received any returns from his investment nor payment for the services he had provided. –Boom!
