Famous South Korean comedian, Park Na Rae, faces a wave of controversies, including allegations of workplace bullying, abuse of power, medical-related harassment, and the possibility of prison time.
Lawyer Jang Hyun Oh from SK Law Office analyzed each allegation individually from a legal perspective on his YouTube channel. Jang uses a scoring system to assess the likelihood of criminal charges, with scores of 80 or higher potentially leading to prison.
Regarding wage disputes, Jang considered it a serious offense if investigated by labor authorities, rated around 50 points.
“Clear crimes that could lead to criminal punishment if labor inspectors intervene,” he told The Korea Times.
Jang noted that the most severe cases indicate prison is possible even for first-time drug offenses.
“Being a first-time offender does not automatically mean probation will be given, whether the score is above 80 or…” he added, explaining adjustments depending on Park Na Rae’s response,” according to The Korea Times.
He also explained that multiple charges would be calculated under concurrent sentencing principles.
Concluding his analysis, Jang emphasized that new revelations only worsen conflicts and increase the risk of prison.
“Given the prison risk, she is advised to promptly seek a resolution and consult a lawyer to avoid the worst consequences for her future.” -BOOM!
