Police will apply for an extension of the remand order against controversial director and singer Namewee to assist in the investigation into the death of a Taiwanese female influencer at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on October 22.

Dang Wangi District Police Chief confirmed the matter, stating that the remand extension is necessary to complete the investigation.
“The suspect’s current remand period expires tomorrow, and we will be applying for an extension to finalise the investigation,” he said on Sunday, as quoted by Sinar Harian.

Earlier, police stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted from various angles, including the possibility of detaining the last person reported to have been with the victim before she was found dead.

Previously, Namewee was remanded for six days to assist in the investigation.

He is believed to have been the last person seen with the influencer before her death. —Boom!
