Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, caught the attention of netizens after sharing a post on Instagram revealing that he received a special gift from K-pop superstar G-Dragon.
In the post, Anwar shared that he was presented with a light stick and a CD album from the BigBang frontman.
“Forgot to share — the other day, my fellow APEC leaders and I received gifts from G-Dragon,” he wrote.
Earlier, Anwar also uploaded a short video showing G-Dragon’s special performance during the APEC 2025 gala dinner held at Lahan Select Gyeongju Hotel in South Korea.
The event was attended by more than 400 guests, including APEC economic leaders and their spouses, according to a report by RTM.
Anwar’s casual demeanor while showing the gifts amused many Malaysians online.
“He’s just like a typical dad sharing what he got after a trip — love our PMX,” one user commented.
Netizens flooded the post with positive reactions, praising Anwar’s sincerity and warm personality.
“Look at how our Prime Minister proudly shows his gift — so polite, so thoughtful, so humble,” another user wrote.
Additionally, Anwar received congratulatory messages from fellow Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders for Malaysia’s successful hosting of the recent 47th ASEAN Summit. —Boom!
