The ex-wife of actor Baim Wong, Paula Verhoeven, has taken firm action by filing a report against the judge who handled their divorce case with the Judicial Commission in Salemba, Central Jakarta.
Paula expressed her dissatisfaction after the court declared her nusyuz and accused her of infidelity during the marriage.
“The decision was made without following the evidence presented and was far from the facts of the trial,” she said, as quoted by Suara.com.
Paula also strongly denied allegations that she had an affair with any man.
“I want to emphasize that there was no illicit relationship with any man throughout our marriage. No evidence was presented in court showing I had an affair. I take full responsibility for all my words,” she asserted.
According to Paula, she came forward to file the report not only to seek justice but also to protect her reputation as a mother.
“My children are still young, and one day they might read about their mother’s story. I stand as a mother who protects her children,” she said.
Last Wednesday, the couple was officially divorced with talak satu after seven years of marriage. In the ruling, the South Jakarta Religious Court stated that Paula had been unfaithful, betrayed her husband, and failed to uphold her honor.
Paula was also declared nusyuz and deemed ineligible to claim any maintenance from Baim.
However, the court decided that custody of their two sons, Kiano (3 years old) and Kenzo (2 years old), would be shared, alternating every two weeks. – BOOM!
