Talented actor Hanis Kamal Bakar, who once won the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 2010 Seri Angkasa Awards for the drama Denai Berbisik, has now ventured into business.
He admitted that he has not received any acting offers since completing the filming of the telemovie Kayuh with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
“After that, there were no more offers. Maybe it just wasn’t my time… I don’t know whether to feel disappointed or not.
“I understand that our industry is small, but there are many players. So, I just take it as not my luck yet—or perhaps it’s because many people in the industry have changed over time.
“In the past, production managers would call to offer roles, but after the COVID-19 lockdown, many of them and even the directors have changed, which could be a factor,” he told Harian Metro.
However, the Sutun film actor didn’t sit idly by. Together with his wife, Dian Zman, he is now actively selling sambal kapitan and sambal penyet on TikTok.
In addition, the couple also markets cosmetic products through live sessions on social media.
