Malaysian singer Datuk Nora Ariffin expressed her gratitude and appreciation after receiving a personal phone call from Datuk Seri Rossa regarding the issue of who granted permission to re-record the song “Sinaran”, written by her late husband, Johan Nawawi.

In her latest social media post, Nora shared how much she appreciated Rossa’s sincerity and willingness to clarify the matter directly.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m truly touched — salute & respect to Dato’ Rossa for caring enough to call me and clarify this issue,”
she wrote.
Nora added that Rossa showed great understanding and professionalism in handling the situation.
“She hopes that I, as the rightful heir, will be able to claim my rights,”
Nora said.
Earlier, BOOM! Malaysia reported that Nora had questioned who granted Rossa permission to remake the song “Sinaran”, originally composed by the late Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan with lyrics by Johan Nawawi.

The iconic song was famously popularized by Datuk Sheila Majid, and remains one of the most influential works in Malaysian music history.
This royalty dispute once again highlights the importance of respecting creative ownership and the rights of heirs to original compositions.
