Famous South Korean comedian and singer, Haha shared the darkest moment of his life when his beloved daughter, Songyi, was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that attacks the nervous system.
The incident happened four years ago, when the world was grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic. Hospitals were full, medical resources were limited, and Haha himself was nearly hopeless.
“It was the hardest time in my life.
I really felt like dying. My daughter was paralyzed, unable to move.
But Park Hyung Geun was with me the whole time,” he said during a recent recording with ROAD FC.
According to Haha, MMA fighter Park Hyung Geun played a crucial role in saving his daughter’s life.
When he faced difficulties getting treatment for Songyi, Park tirelessly contacted hospitals to find the best care available.
Since then, they have formed a close bond that goes beyond mere friendship.
“I couldn’t tell my entertainment show friends because they’d treat me differently.
But Hyung Geun knew everything. He became the person I could cry to and lean on,” Haha added.

Now, Park Hyung Geun is preparing for his next MMA fight at Goobne ROAD FC 073 on June 28 at Jangchung Arena, Seoul.
“Even if he loses, he’ll still be the most honorable fighter in my life,” Haha said with full support.
Although most expect him to lose, Park has vowed to retire if he is defeated. – BOOM!
