Despite choosing a new path as a mutawifah, actress Wan Sharmila stressed that the decision does not mean she is leaving the acting world. Instead, it marks a new phase in her life born from her strong belief in Allah’s sustenance.

According to Wan Sharmila, her involvement in the Hajj and Umrah management field began without any major planning. However, the learning process opened her eyes and strengthened her resolve.
“There were many things I had to face. So why should I sit and suffer? Constantly thinking only about acting, when even if I don’t act, time and age keep moving forward. I have never said that I am leaving the acting industry. I have also never officially declared such a thing,” she told Boom!
Wan Sharmila shared that her journey as a mutawifah has brought her a sense of calm and made her realise that life should not be confined to just one field.

For her, Allah’s sustenance is vast and comes in many forms, as long as one continues to strive.
“I believe Allah’s sustenance is vast. Even if I am not acting, there are other forms of sustenance. Acting offers still come, but many do not materialise. So I need to remain confident and trust that everything happens with Allah’s permission. Allah has not permitted me to act for the time being,” she said.

She added that she is not closing the door to acting and remains open should there be offers with roles that truly suit her. -Boom!
