Two academic figures have decided to file a lawsuit against actress Rita Rudaini following months of alleged defamation and her failure to respond to an earlier RM1 million demand notice.

The suit was filed by the President of MUAFAKAT MRSM Sungai Besar, Mohd Roslan Mohd Nor, and his deputy, Saidah Haris @ Harith, through the legal firm Tetuan Adnan Sharida & Associates on December 6.

According to the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Datuk Adnan Seman, the lawsuit was initiated after discovering that Rita, whose full name is Rita Rudaini Mohammad Mokhtar, 49, had posted defamatory remarks on Instagram, WhatsApp, and several other communication platforms.
“Among the defamatory labels being disputed are accusations that they are arrogant, narcissistic, unprofessional, ‘prof kangkung’, power-hungry, deceitful, and unfit to lead MUAFAKAT. The statements were also linked to allegations of mismanagement of parents’ funds, which subsequently led to the publication of an article highlighting supposed irregularities within MUAFAKAT MRSM,” he told Kosmo! Online.

He added that the plaintiffs are seeking an injunction, a three-month video apology, the removal of all defamatory statements, as well as general, aggravated, and exemplary damages with 5% annual interest.

Earlier, Rita had alleged that there were leadership issues within the Parents and Teachers Association, known as MUAFAKAT, at MRSM Sungai Besar. –Boom!
