The Miss Grand International 2025 pageant in Bangkok made headlines after Miss Panama, Isamar Herrera, mistakenly thought her name was announced as one of the Top 20 finalists.
When host Matthew Deane called out “Miss Grand Paraguay”, Herrera was seen confidently walking to the front of the stage before realizing she was not the contestant being called.
The atmosphere turned chaotic as the crowd reacted loudly to the mix-up.
“There’s a lot of noise in the hall… it’s packed with fans from all over the world,” Deane explained during the live broadcast, clarifying the confusion.
Despite the mishap, Herrera remained calm and professional throughout the incident.
“Things like this can happen… it was just a mistake, and this is a competition. We need to know how to accept defeat and celebrate others’ victories,” she said.
The event concluded with Miss Philippines, Emma Tiglao, being crowned Miss Grand International 2025, marking her country’s second consecutive victory at the pageant.
