Marygrace, 24, was crowned the champion of Calpis Soda One In A Million (CSOIAM) in the grand finale held at Studio Ntv7, Glenmarie, last night.
With this victory, Marygrace took home a grand prize worth RM1 million, including a Peugeot 408 GT, RM500,000 in cash, a recording contract with Alternate Records, and a new song composed by Indonesian music star, Ade Govinda.
Marygrace’s performance of Persamaan (Freedom) and her new single Titik Mula (written by Audi Mok and Shazee Ishak) received praise from the main judges, Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim, Ziana Zain, and Cakra Khan, along with guest judges, Nicholas Saputra and Faizal Tahir.
“Syukur Alhamdulillah… Mummy, we can go for Umrah. Thank you to everyone who gave me this opportunity and guided me to reach this stage,” said Marygrace, tearfully, after being announced as the winner.
The runner-up, Kai Deva, took home RM50,000, while Jimi, who finished in third place, received RM30,000. Zazzleen secured the fourth place with a prize of RM20,000.
The grand finale was also lit up by special performances from Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Ella, Faizal Tahir, and Cakra Khan, before the finalists closed the night with Sejuta Kenangan.
The final results were determined based on 60% judges’ scores and 40% audience votes. Haniff Hamzah and Fiza Frizzy hosted the show throughout its eight-week run. – BOOM!
