Actor Faizal Hussein, 58, claimed to have received numerous messages on social media from people asking to become his wife after watching his performance as Walid in the drama Bidaah.
According to the actor, these requests came from women originating from Indonesia.
“Many messages asking to be my wife. But those who asked, the fans are in Indonesia. Some want to become my wife.
“Some ask me to pray for them because they consider me as Walid.
“There are also those who joke, but we know who is serious and who is not. However, the people asking to marry me, there are many. Some even message to say their friends want to become my wife. But I just read them, don’t reply,” he said.
Faizal’s wife, Suhaila Sulaiman, also did not mind the requests because she understands her husband’s involvement in the entertainment industry.
“My wife is not surprised, she knows all of that. My wife is the type who is open-minded because she is a graduate of the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA).
“So, she understands and knows how the entertainment industry works. You could say I’ve already got a ‘big license’ from her. She already knows what her husband is like, so there’s no problem,” he added.
Faizal also consults his wife before accepting acting roles, especially those involving hugging scenes.
“If there’s a romantic scene, before accepting, I ask her. I ask if it’s okay to act in this story because there are hugging scenes and so on.
“My wife says just do it, because she understands. But in Malaysia, whatever we can do to make the audience understand the character, that’s what we do,” he said.
Faizal admitted he is happy to see the reception of Bidaah while being able to spread religious messages.
“After the role of Walid exploded in Indonesia, they investigated who the actor portraying that role was.
“So, they recognized me. Some initially didn’t like me, but once they got to know me, my followers increased.
“Even my child’s social media account followers increased. Alhamdulillah, it means the impact of this role is good.
“Moreover, there were even some ‘Walids’ there who got arrested. That’s actually what I want to do. In my work, I also want to spread religious messages,” he said. – BOOM!
