Lord of the Rings (LOTR) star Sean Astin has stepped forward to help former Nickelodeon actor Tylor Chase after a viral video showed the latter living in poor condition and experiencing homelessness.
According to actor Daniel Curtis Lee, Astin who also serves as President of the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has reached out to Chase and expressed his intention to meet him.
Lee said the meeting is hoped to encourage Chase to accept assistance and take steps toward leaving life on the streets.
For the record, Astin famously portrayed the hobbit Samwise Gamgee, the loyal companion of Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings film series.
Lee has also taken action to support Chase by providing temporary accommodation, food, and medical care.
“Tylor Chase and Cookie have been reunited. Safe from the rain and we got a hotel! One step closer to long-term treatment,” Lee was quoted as saying by TMZ.
At present, Chase who has been living as a homeless person in Southern California, USA is also reportedly struggling with substance addiction. —Boom!
