Popular Indonesian dangdut singer, Lesti Kejora is now facing legal action after being accused of copyright infringement by musician and songwriter Yoni Dores, the younger sibling of the late Deddy Dores.
The complaint against Lesti was filed with the Metro Jaya Police by Yoni’s personal assistant, Pepi, along with a legal team led by Hammer Lovom, Ilham, and Endang.

According to Yoni, Lesti has been performing several of his songs without permission since 2018, including Cinta Bukan Kapal, Bagaikan Cabang Kering, and Buaya Buntung.
Yoni’s legal team had previously sent two formal warning letters, but no response was received from Lesti’s side.
Yoni also submitted various pieces of evidence, including copyright confirmation documents and videos of Lesti’s unauthorized cover performances uploaded on YouTube.
“We found several performance videos uploaded commercially without the original songwriter’s permission,” explained Yoni’s representative.
The case is now being investigated under Article 113 in conjunction with Article 9 of Law Number 28 of 2014 on Copyright in Indonesia.
If found guilty, Lesti could face up to 4 years in prison and fines reaching Rp1 billion (approximately RM260,213.20). – BOOM!
