South Korean actor Lee Jong-suk has cancelled his scheduled fan meeting in Manila after his agency, A-Man Project, raised concerns over public safety.

The decision comes amid massive protests currently taking place in the Philippine capital. According to the agency, the move was made to prioritise the well-being of everyone involved, including fans and production staff.
“The decision was made after careful consideration, prioritising the safety of fans, the artist, and all staff members in light of the demonstrations planned on the same day,” the agency stated.

The protests are linked to a corruption scandal involving a flood control project, which has sparked public outrage and driven thousands of citizens to the streets demanding greater government accountability.

A-Man Project also apologised to fans who had been eagerly anticipating the event, asking for their understanding regarding the unexpected cancellation.
Despite the setback, Lee Jong-suk is expected to continue with his fan meeting tour in other cities, including Bangkok, Hong Kong, and Seoul. —Boom!
