Previously, the role of Dumbledore was played by Richard Harris and Michael Gambon, while the younger version was portrayed by Jude Law in Fantastic Beasts. However, the choice of Lithgow, an American actor, has sparked debate.
One fan sarcastically commented on social media, “Trinity Killer as Dumbledore? That’s wild!”, referring to his role in Dexter.
Another questioned, “Is it really that hard to find an older British actor?”
Some fans also expressed concern about his age, “Lithgow is great, but he’s already 79. Please don’t cast someone who will need to be replaced halfway.”
The Harry Potter series is set to begin filming at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden and is expected to premiere on HBO in 2026 or 2027. What do you think of this casting choice? Will fans accept it? – BOOM!
