The body of actress Nadia Kesuma was laid to rest at Dhahban Cemetery in Jeddah at 7.35 a.m. local time, bringing closure to a period of anxiety felt by her family and Malaysians who had closely followed her disappearance..
In a statement, Wisma Putra confirmed that the burial was attended by the late actress’s husband and daughter.
“Wisma Putra, through the Malaysian Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah, worked closely with the next of kin and local authorities to facilitate and coordinate all burial arrangements,” the statement said.
The late actress’s husband, Dr Kamarul, and their daughter, Sarah, departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for Jeddah at 5.35 p.m.
Media reports stated that 500 worshippers performed funeral prayers at Masjid Al Thunayan in Jeddah.
Nadia Kesuma, whose real name was Nadiah Kasumawati Abdul Karim, had joined an Umrah–London–Paris travel package with 21 other pilgrims. Her disappearance had earlier caused widespread concern and went viral nationwide. She was in the Holy Land for an umrah trip organized by NIH Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd.
