The name of Indonesia’s legendary band, Peterpan, has become a hot topic again after the emergence of a new Instagram account with the username @peterpanband.id.
The account uploaded a nostalgic video featuring snippets of their popular songs, sparking fans’ hopes for a possible comeback of the band that once rocked the Indonesian music industry.
What’s even more surprising is that the account follows the original members, including Ariel, Lukman, Uki, Indra, Andika, and Reza, leading many to wonder if a reunion is in the works.
Previously, Peterpan, formed in 2000, became a massive phenomenon in the region but disbanded in 2006 due to internal tensions.
In 2023, the lead vocalist, Ariel, finally revealed the real reason behind the band’s breakup.
“When you’re in a band, everyone should want to create songs, right?
But at that time, not everyone had material to contribute,” Ariel said during an interview on Ferdy Element’s YouTube channel.

He also stated that Andika contributed less new material for the second album, causing dissatisfaction and tension among the other members.
“We were collecting songs, but when Andika’s contributions didn’t satisfy the others, he started feeling pressured.
He even said, ‘Why does everyone dislike everything I do?’” Ariel explained.
Although Andika once expressed feeling unappreciated, Ariel emphasized that they had agreed not to air anyone’s dirty laundry when they parted ways in 2006, only citing a difference in vision as the official reason.
“The reason I’m sharing this now is because Andika once said he was ‘kicked out.’
But in reality, we all agreed to give a simple answer to the media back then,” he added.

Now, the existence of this new Instagram account feels like a ray of hope for longtime fans dreaming of a Peterpan reunion. – BOOM!
