Admitting his admiration for Syamsul Yusof’s work, Indonesian filmmaker Jastis Arimba has urged the renowned Malaysian director to produce a film highlighting the struggles of the Palestinian people.

According to Jastis, Syamsul is well known for his epic films that carry strong humanitarian values.
“I hope that as one of Malaysia’s great directors, Syamsul will show his concern for the people of Palestine and create a film that amplifies their fight for justice,” he said, as quoted by Hibglam.
Jastis believes that Syamsul’s wide influence could help open the world’s eyes to the ongoing suffering of Palestinians.

He emphasized that film is a powerful medium to convey humanitarian messages and inspire global solidarity.
“For me, the Palestinian struggle is like a marathon. We cannot stop or grow weary. Everyone has their own role to play,” said Jastis, who is currently in Malaysia to promote his latest film, Hayya 3: Gaza, which is set to be released on October 30.

Jastis also expressed hope that more Southeast Asian directors will come forward to create works that highlight humanitarian issues and champion the rights of oppressed communities such as the Palestinians.
